Glide’s entire back catalogue is now available through iTunes in Australia. All of the band’s recorded output from the their first EP “Pretty Mouth” right through to the posthumously released “Last” album can be found at the iTunes store. It’s nice to think that all of William’s work is now available again for people to discover for the first time, or indeed to re-discover after such a long time out of circulation. Today we raise a glass to him and marvel at the wonder of those amazing songs.
Check out the Discography section for details on how to grab them.
Unheralded ’90s guitar outfit Glide and their late singer William Arthur will get some due recognition with the re-release of the band’s full catalogue this month.
One of the mainstays of the Sydney scene in the early 1990s, the band’s seven releases, which have been out of print for a decade, will finally see the light of day via iTunes on July 30. They include three EPS – Pretty Mouth (1991), Shuffle Off To Buffalo and Wake (1993) – and albums Open Up & Croon (1995), Disappear Here (1996), Shrink Wrapped Real Thing (1997) and Last (2000), which came out a year after Arthur’s untimely passing.
Glide will perform in Melbourne and Sydney in August, with Youth Group’s Toby Martin handling vocal duties (dates below). Featuring original members Jason Kingshott (drums), Marc Lynch (bass) and Tim Scott (guitar) and second bassist Andy Kelly (also on guitar), it’ll mark the band’s first shows since the late ’90s.
The shows will cover material across Glide’s oeuvre – from the first track they released, ‘Fade’, to their final album.
